1. What is Elegant Outdoor Living?
Elegant Outdoor Living is the outdoor division of Elegant Blinds and Shades. We design and deliver complete backyard makeovers, from louvered pergolas and patio covers to motorized screens, awnings, outdoor kitchens, heating, fans, and luxury outdoor furniture.
Yes. We can plan your outdoor space as one cohesive project, coordinating shade structures, screens, lighting, heating, kitchens, and furnishings so every element works together. You get one team and one vision instead of juggling multiple contractors.
We serve homeowners across the Treasure Coast and beyond, including Port St. Lucie, Tradition, Fort Pierce, Stuart, Vero Beach, and Okeechobee. We’re growing fast, so if you don’t see your city listed, check with us. We may already be working in your area.
Yes. Our Tradition showroom at 10388 SW Discovery Way features a variety of outdoor living displays, so you can see the finishes, feel the fabrics, and try the motorization for yourself. Stop by to explore before you plan your project.
A louvered pergola is an aluminum structure with a roof of adjustable louvers that open for sunlight and airflow or close for shade and rain protection. Unlike a traditional wood pergola, it gives you real control over the weather and won’t rot, warp, or need repainting.
The R-Blade is a motorized louvered pergola you can adjust with a remote or automation. The K-Bana offers adjustable louvers operated manually. The R-Breeze has fixed louvers set at an angle that provides consistent shade and airflow without moving parts. We’ll help you choose based on how you use the space and your budget.
When the louvers are closed, the Azenco R-Blade creates a water-resistant roof and channels rainwater through integrated gutters and posts. Optional rain sensors can close the louvers automatically when rain starts.
The Azenco R-Weave features a retractable fabric roof that extends for shade and retracts for open sky. It’s a great fit if you want a softer look and the flexibility to fully open your space to the sun.
An awning attaches to your home and projects outward to shade a patio, door, or window. A pergola is a larger freestanding or attached structure that defines an outdoor room. The Azenco K-Nopy is a premium aluminum awning with a clean, architectural look.
The Azenco R-Shade uses insulated roof panels that block heat as well as sun, keeping the space beneath noticeably cooler. That can make your patio comfortable even during peak summer afternoons, and it can help reduce heat gain in adjacent rooms.
Yes. The Azenco R-Car is a luxury insulated aluminum carport that protects your vehicles from sun, heat, and rain while complementing your home’s architecture.
Powder-coated aluminum is well suited to Florida’s heat and humidity because it won’t rot, warp, or attract termites. In coastal areas, regular rinsing helps protect the finish from salt buildup. Many Azenco structures are also engineered for hurricane-force winds, with ratings of up to 190 mph depending on the model.
Yes. Azenco engineers its aluminum structures for demanding coastal climates, and most of its lineup carries wind ratings of 175 to 190 mph. Its flagship R-Blade motorized pergola has earned a Miami-Dade County Notice of Acceptance (NOA), one of the most rigorous product approvals in the country, which requires passing high-wind pressure and water infiltration testing.
According to Azenco’s published specifications: the R-Blade Motorized Louvered Pergola is rated for wind loads up to 190 mph; the R-Breeze Fixed Louvered Pergola up to 190 mph; the R-Shade Insulated Patio Cover up to 175 mph; the R-Car Luxury Insulated Carport up to 175 mph; the K-Nopy Louvered Aluminum Awning up to 175 mph; the K-Nopy Insulated Aluminum Awning up to 75 mph; and the K-Bana Manual Louvered Pergola up to 105 mph. We’ll help you match the right product to your home’s exposure and local code requirements.
Yes. The R-Blade holds Miami-Dade County NOA No. 25-0205.04, valid through March 20, 2030, and is designed to comply with the 2023 Florida Building Code, including High-Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) requirements. The R-Blade is also rated for snow loads of up to 100 pounds per square foot, and it’s available in single-zone sizes up to 22’10” x 16′.
A wind rating reflects the maximum wind load a product is engineered to handle in its tested configuration. Actual performance depends on the size of the structure, how it’s anchored, whether it’s attached or freestanding, and your site’s exposure. That’s why every installation is engineered and permitted to meet the wind-speed requirements for your specific location.
No. The R-Weave’s aluminum frame is built to last, but its retractable fabric roof should be fully retracted ahead of high winds or tropical weather. If year-round hurricane-rated coverage is your priority, we’ll typically recommend the R-Blade, R-Breeze, or R-Shade.
Most pergolas, patio covers, and carports on the Treasure Coast require a building permit, and many communities also require HOA approval. We offer permit assistance and can provide the product documentation needed for your permit and HOA submittals.
MagnaTrack screens are motorized retractable screens that lower at the touch of a button to enclose your patio, lanai, or pergola and disappear into a housing when not in use. Their track system holds the screen securely along the sides for a clean, tight fit.
Insect screens keep out mosquitoes and no-see-ums while preserving airflow and views. Solar screens block a significant share of heat and glare while adding daytime privacy. Clear vinyl screens help block wind and rain so you can enjoy the space in cooler or wetter weather.
Defender hurricane screens are heavy-duty motorized screens that deploy at the touch of a button to protect your lanai, patio, or openings from hurricane winds and flying debris, then retract out of sight in normal weather. They carry Florida Product Approval #FL30798, are tested to a design pressure of up to +/- 200 PSF, and meet Miami-Dade and Florida Building Code requirements for roll-down hurricane screens. MagnaTrack engineers them to absorb impact from Category 5 hurricane-force winds exceeding 156 mph.
Defender screens are tested to Florida’s TAS 201, 202, and 203 protocols and ASTM E330, E1886, and E1996 standards, which evaluate wind pressure resistance and impact from wind-borne debris. Residential spans can reach up to 30 feet wide, and commercial screens up to 26 feet wide by 16 feet tall.
MagnaTrack’s patented system uses rare-earth neodymium magnets and an interlocking side track in place of the zippers used on many motorized screens. The dual-pull magnetic design keeps the screen seated in its tracks under wind load and helps dampen the force of wind and debris. The zipper-free design also eliminates many of the service issues common to other motorized screens.
No. Standard MagnaTrack insect, solar, and vinyl screens are built for everyday comfort, not hurricane protection, and should be retracted ahead of a storm. If you want screens that deploy for hurricane protection, the MagnaTrack Defender is the product designed for that job.
Both SunPro retractable awnings extend for shade and retract when you don’t need them. Manual awnings operate with a hand crank, while motorized awnings extend and retract with a remote or switch, and can often be paired with sun and wind sensors.
Yes. Motorized pergolas, screens, and awnings can be operated by remote, and many can be paired with sensors that respond to rain, wind, or sun. Integrated lighting options are also available on select structures.
Yes. We offer outdoor kitchens using RTA Outdoor Living modular islands, paired with premium grills and appliances from Twin Eagles and Station Grills. We’ll help you plan a layout that fits how you cook and entertain.
Infratech infrared heaters warm people and surfaces directly, making cool evenings comfortable. Matthews Fan Company outdoor fans keep air moving on hot days. Combined with shade and screens, they help you use your space in every season.
Yes. We carry luxury outdoor furniture from Skyline Design, Panama Jack outdoor furniture, and FiberBuilt umbrellas and cushions, so your new outdoor space is fully furnished and ready to enjoy.
Slide Clear offers operable glass wall systems, including sliding, folding, and motorized vertical glass walls, that let you open your outdoor room to fresh air or close it off from wind and weather. They’re a sophisticated way to turn a covered patio into a true year-round space.
Every project is custom, so cost depends on the size of your space, the structures and products you choose, motorization, and site conditions. We provide a detailed proposal after your consultation so you can see exactly what’s included.
Timelines depend on the scope of work, product lead times, and permitting. A single screen or awning is typically a much faster project than a full pergola or complete backyard makeover. We’ll give you a realistic timeline in your proposal.
Retract standard screens, retractable awnings, and fabric roofs such as the R-Weave, and deploy Defender hurricane screens if you have them. Secure or bring in outdoor furniture, umbrellas, and cushions, and clear gutters and tracks of debris. We’ll walk you through the manufacturer’s storm-prep guidance for each product in your project.
Rinse aluminum structures, screens, and awnings periodically with fresh water, especially if you live near the coast, and keep gutters and tracks clear of debris. Retract screens and awnings during high winds. We’ll share product-specific care guidelines when your project is complete.
